TV Presenter Steve Jones is best known for presenting T4 alongside Miquita Oliver and Rick Edwards. Steve is the new face of primetime light entertainment and will be on the radar of a whole new audience with his upcoming shows for the BBC.
Steve's debut on the BBC was hosting the panel show AS SEEN ON TV in 2009. He then filmed a new show called DROPZONE. This big-budget adventure series sees contestants travel all over the world and compete against each other to win "the prize of a lifetime". Transmission date tbc.
101 WAYS TO LEAVE A GAMESHOW is Steve's latest project for the beeb. The series, brought to us by the same producers behind 'Total Wipeout', will see contestants battle it out to stay in the game, as one of them is kicked out of each round in an extraordinary way.
Steve was also involved in this year’s COMIC RELIEF. He presented 'LETS DANCE...FOR COMIC RELIEF' alongside Claudia Winkleman. This saw celebrities pay homage to iconic dance routines in a bid to wow audiences with their moves. The series ran for 4 weeks and was a huge success for the BBC, raising millions in the process.
A former model, Steve travelled the world working for high profile labels such as Versace, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, and Coca Cola amongst others.
His first presenting job was for THE POP FACTORY AWARDS and it was soon after that Steve decided to focus on presenting. His natural charm and enthusiasm was seen on C5’s 99 THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE and C4’s CARLING LIVE 24 which launched him into mainstream TV. It was only a matter of time before the industry noticed, and he soon joined the T4 strand for C4, becoming an instant hit with viewers. Steve has been with T4 for over five years and has covered fantastic music and film specials as well as the annual T4 On the Beach festival. He has flown to LA to interview Will Smith and got an unprecedented 40 minutes with the Hollywood Star (a world first) and has also been to Austria where he filmed a James Bond movie special. Other TV credits include TRANSMISSION (his late night music show with Lauren Laverne) and WHEN WOMEN RULE THE WORLD which was a prime time show for C4 last year and saw eight women taking sole charge of a group of ten men and challenged the women to build their perfect female crafted community. Shot on location in the Carribean, Steve hosted the UK version of the hugely successful American format.
Steve has been snapped up by one of the top agents in LA and is being groomed for a presenting career over there, although he has no immediate plans to relocate as things are going so well here.
Steve's enjoyed cameo roles in two feature films by director GURINDER CHADHA.
