Sarah-Jane Crawford is an up-and-coming UK radio and television presenter who, over the past few months, has interviewed some of the biggest names in film and music including Robert De Niro, Kings of Leon, Pussycat Dolls and 50 Cent. One of her career highlights has been presenting the Vodafone TBA special of N*E*R*D for Channel 4. She has covered a number of movie junkets for E4 such as Sex & The City and RockNRolla.
Currently she can be heard presenting her own show on BBC Radio 1xtra. This perfectly combines her love for music with her passion for chatting.
Sarah-Jane was originally born in London, but moved to Cambridgeshire with her family when she was 12. Whilst studying for her degree in Marketing she retained a love for music and performance by attending weekend drama classes and traveling as part of an acoustic duo – her focus on music even included a brief spell as part of a girl band (for a Saatchi & Saatchi ad campaign).
Her love for music may have stemmed from the eclectic tastes she was subjected to as a child – ranging from The Beatles to The Ronnets via Stevie Wonder, Lauren Hill, Led Zepplin and Michael Jackson. A love of the 60’s has also influenced her unique style, and she can often be found rummaging through vintage stores for classic pieces in Camden or near her home in Notting Hill, West London.
Sarah-Jane is also very proud to be associated with a number of causes that are close to her heart. She is a supporter of the National Autistic Society and Teens Unite, a charity supporting teens with life-threatening illnesses. She is also strongly associated with The Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity working to raise awareness within the Black Community of the importance of joining the bone-marrow database.
As an experienced host of live events, including the Rise Festival, she also recently hosted the main stage at the London Games Festival alongside Dave Berry.
SJ can be seen regularly on E4 Music alongside Nick Grimshaw, Rick Edwards and Alexa Chung, and is hailed as 'one to watch' in 2009.
