Rick is part of the T4 presenting family alongside our very own Steve Jones and Miquita Oliver. He started his career off doing stand-up and sketch shows at University and has written material for BBC Radio and various TV shows as well as a stint as the audience warm-up guy for what he describes as 'a crowd of degenerates and old people' on the BBC's Ruby Wax daytime show. Rick co-presented the E4 music show which led to C4 offering him their flagship youth music show FRESHLY SQUEEZED alongside Alexa Chung.
Whilst continuing to host T4 every weekend, Rick also fronted a brand new music show on C4 called The Hollyoaks Music Show, which looked to find the next big thing in British music. Each week new bands entered the competition and the winning band is set to appear in an episode of Hollyoaks.
His good friend and former co-presenter, Alexa Chung, had him on her American MTV show, It's On With Alexa Chung, when he was in New York recently to read the celebrity news. He really struck a cord with American audiences and is hoping to return to the States very soon.
Rick also hosted the 'TRACK & FIELD SHOW', which stemmed from McCain's 5-year partnership with UK Athletics. This 12-part series featured all things athletics - and Rick was out and about around the country looking at what sports are on offer, searching for the UK's up-and-coming athletes, and having a go himself.
He is a huge movie buff and regularly hosts T4's movie specials. This includes particular highlights such as PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN 3, TRANSFORMERS, RATATOUILLE and BOURNE ULTIMATUM. Last year also saw him present the BBCi red-carpet coverage of the BAFTAS.
He had the honour of covering many of the major music festivals in 2009, including the O2 Wireless Festival, V Festival and T4 on the Beach. Following on T4 ON THE BEACH, where over 45,000 screaming fans headed over to Weston-Super-Mare for performances from some of the best acts around, Rick once again joined fellow presenters Miquita Oliver and Steve Jones to host T4 STARS OF 2009. The sold-out show took place at Earl's Court on 29th November, and saw performers such as Alexandra Burke, Kasabian, JLS, Sugababes, Calvin Harris and La Roux take the stage.
In March 2009 he presented the FIRST LIGHT MOVIE AWARDS ceremony alongside Miquita Oliver. The Awards were the crux of a year that saw young people across Britain try their hand at filmmaking. The event was an exciting showcase of undiscovered young talent with a unique and youthful perspective, set in the world-famous Odeon Leicester Square. Guests included Danny Boyle, Sienna Miller, Maxine Peake, David Harewood and Michael Sheen
RELENTLESS was a popular and challenging C4 show that took place in your real life: anywhere, anytime. Basically, contestants were asked to complete a series of exciting challenges and answer a number of quiz questions, all in a 48 hour period. The challenges started anytime, anywhere, so contestants always had to be ready.
Rick can also be seen fronting the EVERYMAN FOR TOPMAN campaign alongside Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. See him model their latest t-shirt designs at www.topman.com.
