Lara is a British actress who received an Olivier and a ‘Whatsonstage' Theatregoers Choice Awards nomination last year for her brilliant portrayal of Lucille Frank, in Rob Ashford’s outstanding production of PARADE, which ran at the Donmar Warehouse last year. The production was recently transferred to LA, and Lara is receiving rave reviews. The LA Times praised how Lara is "faithful to the material in a way that seems commendably realistic". Whilst the New York Times notes that "the lush casting pays off handsomely, with all contributing incisive, effective performances, led by Mr. Knight’s focused, uncompromising turn as Leo, opposite an equally fine Lara Pulver".
Lara could last be seen appearing in the third series of ROBIN HOOD. She played the role of Isabella, a feisty warrior who was quite the opposite to Maid Marian. Lara undertook intense sword and fight training for her role as Isabella, sister of Guy of Gisborne, in the BBC action drama also starring Jonas Armstrong, Richard Armitage and our very own David Harewood.
This was Lara's first TV appearance and she is delighted to have been launched into mainstream TV in such an exciting project.
Other theatre productions include INTO THE WOODS at The Royal Opera House, THE LAST FIVE YEARS at the Menier Chocolate Factory, HONK – THE UGLY DUCKLING at the Royal National Theatre, A CHORUS LINE at The Sheffield Crucible and UK tours of MISS SAIGON, 42nd STREET and CHICAGO.
