
Hattie Morahan is an English actress. She made her professional debut at the age of 17, in the BBC adaptation of THE PEACOCK SPRING.
Hattie performed at The Royal Court with Benedict Cumberbatch in THE CITY last April. This was a three hander and caused quite a stir in theatre circles.
Hattie recently starred in THE BANK JOB playing Gale Benson. The film is based on the true life story of a London heist that netted \"Oceans Eleven\" money with no arrests and not one penny recovered. Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows also starred.
She received amazing reviews as Elinor Dashwood in the BBC\'s fantastic adaptation of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. Critics called her 'exceptional' and 'the new Emma Thompson'.
With a very enviable theatre CV, Hattie played the role of Nina in THE SEAGULL which one rave reviews at the Royal National Theatre - a venue she has worked at many times. The RSC has also seen the talent that Hattie has on offer and she performed in HAMLET, THE PRISONER\'S DILEMMA, NIGHT OF THE SOUL and LOVE IN A WOOD.
Sister Clara was a creepy part that Hattie played in THE GOLDEN COMPASS - the first instalment of a three part adventure adapted from the books by Phillip Pullman. Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Sir Ian McKellan, Eva Green and Jim Carter star in this truly amazing epic adventure.
Morahan studied English at New Hall, Cambridge. While there she directed and appeared in student productions, including A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE which won her a performance award at the 1999 National Student Drama Festival.
Hattie is the daughter of director Christopher Morahan, and actress Anna Carteret. She is engaged to the actor Blake Ritson.
